Downloader Not Working on Firestick? 9 Fixes That Work

Most Downloader problems come down to a blocked permission, a mistyped code or a full Firestick. Work through these nine checks in order.

Downloader is the usual way to install an IPTV player on a Firestick, so when it stops working, everything stops. These fixes are in the order that solves the most cases fastest.

1. The install button is greyed out or blocked

Downloader has not been allowed to install apps. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install unknown apps and switch Downloader on. Can’t see Developer Options? See Developer Options not showing.

2. The code goes to the wrong place or nowhere

One wrong digit sends you to a different page. Retype it carefully. Use only codes from a checked source: our verified codes list only includes codes that lead to the app developer’s own server.

Verified Downloader codes

App Downloader code Downloads from Last checked
IBO Player Pro 481220 iboproapp.com developer's own server 4 Oct 2026
TiviMate 272483 files.tivimate.com developer's own server 4 Oct 2026
OTT Navigator 982469 app.ott-nav.com developer's own server 4 Oct 2026
Kodi 4697031 mirrors.kodi.tv developer's own server 4 Oct 2026

3. “Network error” or nothing loads

Check the internet works in another app, then restart the Firestick and router. If you use a VPN, switch it off and try again.

4. Downloader is stuck on a page

Some links open a short web page before the download starts. Wait a few seconds; if nothing happens, select the download link on the page.

5. “There was a problem parsing the package”

The download was incomplete or the file is not for your device. Delete it in Downloader’s Files tab and download again. If it keeps happening, the app may not support your Fire OS version.

6. Not enough storage

Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About → Storage. Uninstall apps you don’t use and delete old APK files from Downloader’s Files tab.

7. Downloader keeps closing

Clear its cache: Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → Downloader → Clear cache. If that fails, uninstall and reinstall it from the Appstore.

8. Your model runs Vega OS

Vega OS devices, such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Select, can’t install APK files. Downloader may install, but the apps it downloads won’t. Look for your player in the Amazon Appstore instead.

9. Still stuck? Ask us

Send our support team a photo of the error and your Firestick model. We’ll tell you which player works on it and how to install it.

Common questions

Is Downloader safe?

Downloader itself is a well-known app in the Amazon Appstore. The risk is in what you download with it, so stick to developer links and verified codes.

Can I turn the permission off afterwards?

Yes. Switch Downloader off under Install unknown apps. Installed apps keep working.

Do I need Downloader for every app?

Only for apps that are not in the Amazon Appstore.
